A gentleman recently adopted a dog, without even meeting him, with the help of Carol Broad and Victoria Adoptables! River was likely to have been euthanized as he had been at the shelter in Dawson City, Yukon for so long and with no prospects of adoption. We think he is maybe a Pit-bull / Mastiff cross. A small comment about how well he is doing “River is such an incredible dog. The joy he gets playing with other dogs is to behold. Not once has he shown any sort of aggression, even when attacked, or simply when our toy is stolen. He just chases after them, or they chase him. We have turned all of our neighbors into fans, as well as getting some new play buddies.”
The gentleman that owns him, Bryn Shilliday (Victoria) is offering three types of tomatoes, and pepper plants. Beefsteak, Rutgers(med size), and Cherry tomatoes, and hot, med hot, and medium peppers. All are heirloom breeds, and will be garden ready. The cost is by donation and the cheque can be made out to the Dawson City Humane Society. He will have 60 ready to go in 2-3 weeks, and will start on 60-80 more tomorrow.
The Dawson City Humane Society is a very small society that depends on fundraising events and donations to keep the shelter open and yes, it just so happens that my daughter runs it! I think she is a Carol Broad in the making.
If you would like to obtain any plants by donation, please contact bryn.shilliday@gmail.com. Bryn is located in Victoria, BC, Canada
